Employment Related Services Program - West Neighbourhood House

The Employment Related Services Program provides information and support to help newcomers with their training, education, and employment needs.

Our in-person services are available by appointment only, please contact the staff for more information. We also offer services and support remotely (email, Zoom and other platforms) and by phone.

 What services do we offer:

The Employment Related Services Program provides information and support to help newcomers with their training, education, and employment needs including:

  • Finding job training and bridging programs
  • Navigating the Ontario post-secondary system
  • Assisting with credential assessment
  • Learning about English as a second language programs
  • Assisting with college/university applications
  • Connecting with adult high school education
  • Assisting with apprenticeships
  • Applying for grants, bursaries, and scholarships
  • Assisting internationally trained professionals
  • Learning about entrepreneurship and how to open a business
  • Building your resume and writing cover letter
  • Improving job search and interview skills
  • Learning about employee rights and responsibilities

 

Who is eligible:

The Employment Related Services Program is open to newcomers to Canada, including Permanent Residents, Convention Refugees, and Ukrainian Nationals under Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET).

Where:

We are providing services and support in-person, remotely and by phone.

When:

Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Can you help me in a language other than English?

Yes! We have support workers who can assist you in Hindi, Pashto, Urdu, Farsi, Dari, Hungarian, Spanish, Turkish, and Portuguese. If you speak a different language, we can arrange for an interpreter.
