Elderly Persons’ Centres (EPCs)

The Elderly Persons’ Centre (EPC) at West Neighbourhood House offers a variety of activities designed to promote growth in a safe and welcoming environment that embraces the diversity of our community. The EPC takes great pride in the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities in conjunction with the EPC Members’ Council. Our educational, social, cultural and recreation activities are delivered by the senior members of the EPC Volunteer Team and multilingual professional staff. Older adults meet to socialize and take part in activities offered in English, Portuguese and Vietnamese such as:

  • daily drop-in
  • fitness classes
  • sewing, arts and crafts, and tricot
  • lunches, socials, and members’ birthday parties
  • games (wii, bingo and cards)
  • special events and cultural celebrations
  • monthly activities bulletin in English, Portuguese and Vietnamese
  • monthly Volunteer Team and Members’ Council meetings
  • fundraising activities including textile sales, annual bazaar and parties
  • community outreach in seniors housing buildings

Seniors are encouraged to enroll in the Members’ Council for a $15 yearly membership fee.

There are Elderly Persons’ Centres at 248 Ossington Avenue as well as in Parkdale at 20-25 Westlodge Ave (May Robinson) and at 1447 King Street West (Springhurst Manor).
