Every October, West Neighbourhood House participates in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (STWM)–a fantastic event that brings communities together and helps to raise money for the House. This year’s STWM is on October 16, 2016.
We have some amazing folks fundraising for us this year at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon.
In the Charity Challenge, we have over 40 runners, walkers and wheelers fundraising for West NH! The team consists of 50 people–many of whom are participants and volunteers at West NH. These folks could certainly use your fundraising support!
Last year we were able to raise nearly $17,000 and this year we made our goal a little bit higher— we hope to raise $20,000.
In the Neighbourhood Challenge, we have 8 police officers from 14 Division running and fundraising for the House.
When you make a donation, you are making a huge difference in the lives of low-income people in our community. From our drop-in centres for street-involved adults, to our subsidized after-school programming for kids, we rely on the funds raised through the STWM to keep services running.
On the morning of October 16th, we need lots of volunteers to come out to our Neighbourhood Cheering Stage near the Princes’ Gates to help us cheer on all those runners and walkers!
Some Cheering Stage info:
Feel free to invite friends and family to join at the Cheering Stage—it’s a really inspiring and fun way to be a part of STWM. There is a cash prize awarded for the best Cheering Stages so we can use all the cheering power we can get! (Getting first place would mean $6,000 for the House!)
Registration for our Charity Challenge Team is now closed.
