How to Apply for TYJC

Ready to apply for Toronto Youth Job Corps? Take a look at the eligibility criteria below to see if TYJC is right for you.

  • Youth aged 16 to 29
  • 16 and 17 year olds must have their Supervised Alternative Learning (SAL)
  • Not in school and not working 
  • No Post Secondary Diplomas or Degrees
  • Valid (social insurance number) SIN card and photo ID
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee
  • Cannot be on E.I. or eligible for E.I. reachback
  • Have an ability to speak and understand English
  • Have housing in the City of Toronto (this could be your own apartment/room, a friend’s place or a shelter)
  • Be able to work 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Be willing to talk to staff about your difficulties in finding or keeping work
  • Be willing to hear ideas about how you could become more ‘work-ready’
