West Neighbourhood House has a wide variety of learning opportunities for adults.
The Adult Literacy Program provides one-to-one and small group learning for adults who want to improve their reading, writing and math skills. The program works with adults at all levels. The highest level is The Academic Career Entrance Program (ACE Program) which is offered in partnership with George Brown College. The ACE program prepares people for post-secondary education.
The General Educational Development Program (GED Program) helps people prepare for the GED (high school equivalency) exam.
Bang the Drum offers free computer tutoring and internet access. It gives members of the community an opportunity to develop their skills with new communication technologies in a collaborative and supportive setting. The program provides free computer tutoring in a variety of topics as well as access to the internet.
ESL classes are offered through our Immigrant and Refugee Services programs. These classes will help participants improve their English and learn more about community resources.
